Background

ASTRID is the acronym for “Advanced Sodium Technological Reactor for Industrial Demonstration”.

It is a sodium-cooled fast neutron reactor. With its 600 MW, this reactor is sufficiently powerful to be qualified for industrial demonstration, and satisfies 4th generation criteria.
